Safe Environment For Dogs

All dogs require safe environment and protection from hazards. By providing a comfortable, cozy and safe environment at home will make him happy, healthy and secured.

Dogs are pack animals and you are their leader. Generally, keeping the dog indoors will make them happy. But once you're out for a long time, makes your dogs to be more stressed because it is separated from their leader for long period.

Some dogs may be uncomfortable to be indoor for a long period of time. If that is the case, then the dog can be taken outdoor for some time daily but make sure it protect them from sunlight and wind.

Suitable environment:

The environment that you are providing for your dog:

  • Should be clean and safe
  • Should avoid things that scare him.
  • Should have proper protection from any hazards.
  • Should be large enough with good ventilation and temperature.
  • Try to change your Dog’s bed regularly so that it may be comfortable.
  • Should provide access to the nearby area except any restricted area.

Always make sure your dog spends lot of time time with the leader and the family members. Your dog should have an environment where it can move around freely. 

Environmental hazards:

Hazards for Dog in home includes the following:

  • If you are staying in a high building apartment, the open windows and balconies can be a problem as your pets may fall down.
  • Any possible poisonous plant that you keep may harm your pet.
  • Household and garden chemicals.
  • It is necessary to provide a place that does not contain any things that a dog is scared of.
  • Dogs are naturally inquisitive. If they are kept unsupervised, there are chances that they may harm themselves.

Other hazards include:

Food: If your dog lives indoor then it may take foods that we human eat. Some of the foods that we eat are not suitable for the dogs. If you like to treat him with our food, then it is important to contact veterinarians before feeding it.

Toxic chemicals: Some dogs may come in contact with the toxic chemicals such as Fertilizers, Detergents, Insecticides, House cleaners, Antifreeze etc. It is necessary to prevent your dog from reaching them or keep those chemicals at places where your dogs can't reach.

Plants and flowers: Some of the plants and flowers might be hazardous to your dogs. So it is always necessary and advisable to do some research before planting them.
