Tuberculosis - Symptoms

Tuberculosis kills more people around the world each year than any other infectious disease.

The symptoms of TB can vary accordingly and the common signs and symptoms are given below:

  • Persistent cough
  • Coughing up blood
  • Sudden and unexplainable weight loss
  • Night sweats
  • Chills
  • High fever
  • Tiredness
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of appetite

Latent TB does not show any symptoms and it is not transmitted. But active TB causes symptoms and is highly contagious. TB usually affects the lungs but without treatment, it can spread to other parts of the body.
