The main symptom of Hydrocele is the swollen scrotum which is usually painless.
If your child has hydrocele without any other problems, then, the scrotum on either one or both sides (where the hydrocele occurs) may bulge out and becomes bluish. It won’t cause any bulge in the groin area.
Adult men may feel discomfortable due to the feeling of heaviness in the scrotum. Pain may increase slowly due to increase in the size of the inflammation.
You should consult your doctor immediately if there is a sudden pain in the scrotum. A hydrocele can also be a symptom of an inguinal hernia which requires immediate medical attention.
